DVD Rentals - Bourne the Ultimate Rental of the Week
December 24, 2007
New releases lead the way on the rental chart but it was The Bourne Ultimatum that came out in first place with $15.44 million in rentals, which is one of the best opening weeks this year.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix had to settle for second place on the rental charts with $12.25 million, but this is more than compensated with its dominance on the sales chart. Superbad fell to third with $11.55 million for the week; however, that's more than most monster hits have opened with and pushes its total to $25.52 million so far. Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End added $7.88 million over the week for a total of $17.42 million after two. Live Free or Die Hard rounded out the top five with $6.34 million and now has $37.41 million after a month on the home market.
Only two other releases charted this week with Lost - Season 3 placing 19th with $2.24 million while High School Musical 2 landed in 24th place with $1.65 million.
