Synopsis
“I changed the music for the camera,” says Marilina Giménez when she begins to tell what her band Yilet was, an electro pop trio that she formed in 2009. From that autobiographical record, A girl band reconstructs its history and asks about the role of women in local music. On that journey through the Buenos Aires night, the Yilet meet other bands that add history and contextualize: there are musics, they always were, it is the commercial system that does not include them. She Devils, Las Kellies, Kumbia Queers, Liers, Paula Maffía, Lucy Patané, Sathya, Chocolate Remix, Miss Bolivia, the portrait of the scene is composed in a setting on which women, lesbians and trans show the vicissitudes (or violence) ) that they support to continue doing what they want to do: music.
